I certainly enjoy traveling to big cities, and Chicago, the third largest city of the United States, is one of my favorite cities that I’ve been to.

I was fascinated by the architecture, its history, the diversity of cultures, the many options of things to-do, oh man, I love Chicago!

We stayed in Pilsen, the main neighborhood of the Lower West Side community area, and I’ve gotta say that I loved it! There we found neat panaderias, a paleteria that had over 20 delicious Mexican-inspired ice-cream flavors – including gansito flavored ice-cream, and locally owned restaurants offering authentic Mexican dishes.

Among the various places we visited and things we did in Chicago that I truly enjoyed were:

  • Bike-riding along Lake Michigan
  • Enjoying some blues at the famous Buddy Guy’s Legends
  • Great food at Gloria’s Tacos, and chatting it up with Doña Gloria 🙂
  • Architecture Tour along the Chicago River
  • Holy Name Cathedral
  • Union Station

And here are some photos I captured.
